EIC has created a 3D Model competition for all schools or youth based organizations in Sarasota and Charlotte Counties that currently have 3D Printers in their facilities. We are looking for a 3D Printed object that is created by one or more students using any of the available 3D Modeling software programs.


  1. The object must be at least 8” to 10” long and up to 8” wide with a maximum height of 10”. It can consist of one or more pieces and multiple colors are allowed. It can be printed from ABS, PLA, HIPS, Nylon, or Flexible materials. The object can be static or it can have parts that move.
  2. Each school will complete the attached Competition Registration Form and send it back to EIC or email it to us no later than January 15th 2017. We would appreciate getting the forms back to us as soon as you can.
  3. You can have up to 5 students work on the project. Team efforts have more value when judging the competition. Age of students is taken into consideration.
  4. All judging will take place at the Maker Faire. The 3D Printed object needs to be at the event by 1:00 PM Sunday, January 29, 2017.
  5. Judging will be done by a select committee with experience in 3D Printing.

The rules regarding the competition are above this form. Please make sure you read the rules and understand the design requirements as indicated. The cash awards along with a plaque for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will be handed out at the end of the event. Individuals with a minimum of 3 years of experience in 3D Modeling and 3D Printing will be judging the competition.
